Rotarians from within District 6290 are welcomed to visit the Life Leadership Conference to see and experience 150 great teen leaders in action. Below you will find details on the conference and opportunities to get engage while attending.

Conference Theme: Building Future Leaders Today
Conference Objective:  Participants of the Life Leadership Conference will be empowered, learn leadership skills and be inspired, utilizing the Rotary motto of Service Above Self, to expand their leadership roles in service to their schools, communities, and to the world.
Primary Message: You are leaders today, not just tomorrow
When: The Conference kicks off on Wednesday June 17th at 1:30pm and ends at 3pm on Saturday June 20th.
Where: Kettunen Center located in Tustin, MI.
14901 4H Drive, Tustin, MI 49688
Opportunities for visiting Rotarians to engage in the conference:
  • Rotary Minutes: At each general session we will have a Rotary Minute where we share with the teens a different aspect of Rotary International. This would be a great opportunity for Rotary members to share about opportunities within Rotary or activities they have had the opportunity to engage in. General sessions will occur at 7:15pm On Wednesday9am1pm and 7:15pm on Thursday and Friday and 8:30am on Saturday.
  • Leadership Styles discussion and activities: On Thursday from 1-4pm teens will be taking the Disc Assessment and participating in discussions and activities around the different leadership styles. Rotary members can be plugged into small groups to assist staff in facilitating these discussions and activities.
  • Dangerous Parallel Activity: On Friday from 1-4pm conferees will be participating in a activity where they will be divided into different country’s and have to negotiate a conflict. There is opportunity for visiting Rotarians to help monitor the activity and help keep groups focused on the task at hand. If you are interested in participating in this activity you would need to arrive in the morning to be briefed on the activity.
  • Leadership Elements: On Friday morning conferees will be presenting on various leadership elements they have been learning about from 10:30-noon. There is an opportunity during this time to have a few Rotarians briefly share a leadership element or trait that they find to be important for leaders today.
  • Other opportunities: We welcome Rotarians to visit at any time to observe the Life Leadership Conference and can identify additional opportunities for engagement if desired.
If you are a Rotarian planning to visit the Life Leadership Conference please contact Rob Brummeler, Assistant Director LLC, at sailntigger@hotmail.com or 734-416-8467. It will be helpful to know your arrival and departure times in order to accommodate guest at meal times.
